I protest intolerance

I believe in tolerance, in the respect of ideas. I especially believe in congruence, in common sense, in always doing good. I dream; of leaving politics out of public institutions, in decentralizing powers, in the coexistence of ideologies. I want to work today, more than ever, for my country. I dream that everybody that has a strong sense of service vocation can demonstrate his or her talents for benefiting the whole nation. I long for a society without prejudices, neither with perceptions based on fear, violence and hatred. I want to stop thinking there is such as thing as a ‘government on duty’ and happens then a continual government duty, for all. Respect to the authority, and authorities with respect. I want to be signaled in the photo as a Venezuelan, and not as a Foreigner. I want people to understand, that it is possible to build a great nation if we allow both, the cadet and myself, the opportunity to do so. I believe in the power of critics, it demonstrates criteria. I want a country with tolerant criteria, focused on future, rather than the land of the 1800’s and the Founding Fathers of the past. The battle is to gain independence from the past. I protest intolerance to an easy way out: doing things right. Egos, aside. I protest the simple fact that under our soil lay the biggest oil reserves in the world, and on top of it, the biggest incompetence in making them happen.
